A Little More About Me

I grew up in Reading, Pennsylvania, and now call Sinking Spring home. Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I began singing professionally at fourteen. It has brought me so many experiences and people I'm grateful for. As I've grown, the way I want to share music has grown with me. These days, what means the most is feeling at home in my own voice and connecting with the people listening.

I've been performing solo for a while now, and I love the freedom it gives me. I can choose the songs that move me, follow the feeling in the room, and let the evening unfold. I feel more comfortable in my body, my voice, and onstage than I ever have. It feels so much like home that I can't imagine doing it any other way.

That's part of why I love smaller venues. I've sung for crowds of all sizes, and these days the smaller rooms are where I feel happiest. I love being close enough to talk with people, laugh together, and get to know one another. I can just be myself, and I want everyone there to feel comfortable being themselves, too. If we all leave a little happier than we arrived, that's a good night.

Feeling at home in my voice has been a journey, too. I was diagnosed with celiac disease around 2013 and had to make changes to the way I lived. My health, along with things in my life and career that weren't quite aligning with who I was, affected my singing, and I lost much of my range for a few years. I'm in a much better place now, both in my health and my voice, and it feels good to sing with that ease again.

Songwriting has been another part of finding my voice. I wrote and produced five albums during some very difficult chapters of my life, and those songs hold a lot of me. Over time, I realized that some of what I'd shared felt too personal to keep on digital platforms. The yearly fees to renew every album and single were also becoming too much. I never put my music out to make money, but I didn't want sharing it to keep costing me more than I could manage. Taking those albums offline felt right for me. They still mean a great deal to me, and I'm grateful to everyone who listened.

That connection with people is still what I love about music, and it's a big part of why I enjoy teaching voice. I love getting to know my students and helping them feel comfortable exploring what their voices can do. There's room for questions, mistakes, laughter, and those little moments when something clicks. Watching someone become more comfortable singing in their own way means so much to me.

I value that same sense of comfort in my everyday life. I'm a mom to two grown sons, Tyler and Gaige, who are a big part of my heart. At home, I love quiet time with my partner, Otis, and my dogs, Taffy and Prada. I'm very much a homebody, happiest gardening, being outside, and noticing the little things in nature. Yoga, meditation, and my own sense of spirituality are also part of how I slow down and feel like myself.

I'm glad you're here, and I hope this gives you a little more of a feeling for the person behind the music.
